"Very much a job done performance.
The girls listened to what was required and did the job.
However, if I was being critical, the first half again saw us concede two unnecessary goals (all five goals we have conceded this season have come in a very similar manner) and this really became our (Izzy & Myself) focus during that game. Against a stronger team we would have had problems yesterday.
Once again we tweaked things at the back and in the middle of the pitch and it made a notable difference in the second half. Both myself and Izzy were pleased how the girls listened and changed the way they were playing (only small things, but made a massive difference). I feel more confident that moving forward this will be less of an issue.
It's very hard to watch a game like that objectively, that is why I made ongoing changes throughout to try different things and also try and tame the score line, we even played best part of 20 minutes with 10 players (in which time we added more goals). However, I know that we have much stronger opponents in Enfield, Camden, APY etc, so this game is not really a true reflection of what is to come.
In the second half, we moved towards passing (to feet) and possession football and the last 20 minutes were a real pleasure to watch, with the ball and the girls in complete control.
Player of the match? - that's really difficult, especially when we had a hat full of goals (Thalia, Holly & Lily would all have a good shout). The whole of our backline, for "sorting it out" and making the changes that needed to happen. Both second half's we have not conceded, just need to get through a first half, which will come. Midfield were awesome and bossed the game.
However, someone stood out for me for a variety of reasons, she accepted gracefully going in goal "again" (and also doing an amazing job whilst there and set up some of the best goals - incredibly unselfish in her play. So for that reason my player of the match goes to Schyler.
Onwards and upwards .. details of coming week to follow shortly" - Coach Ken
