VERY happy Coach .... after a stressful week, that was the perfect tonic!

Actonians 3 v Alexandra Park Youth 2

Score line was possibly a little flattering for APY, but equally I thought APY played to their strengths and the long ball kept Nell, Tess, Annie & Ash (who were brilliant today). Annie was a stand out defender today, although the whole backline did a great job.

As always when called upon Fatima was at her best and complete respect for listening at half time and adjusting to the game that APY were playing.

Midfield & Forwards.... blimey where do I start, some of the link up play between Millie, Tallulah, Lily was us at our absolute best, on the other side Eira was on fire. The engine in the middle which was rotated due to their work rate, Siena, Thalia, Sophie, Clemmie and later Schyler all played a huge part, in both assisting our defence, breaking up APY play and supporting our attack.

Marli showed us that she is more than able to play in midfield on the wing and looked dangerous going forward and even saved us late on getting back to cover our defence.

Lily, Tallulah, Schyler & Holly were all fantastic upfront and on another day, we would have had a hatful of goals

What I was most impressed by was the work rate across the whole of the pitch, we played as a team and got the win that I think we deserved - although I was halfway home, before Sophie realised we had won rather than drawn ?.

Hard worked goals from Lily and a brace from Eira got us across the line

Again when we play like that, it almost feels wrong to have a plyer of the match, however, Millie was exceptional today and for that reason gets Player of the Week!

If I ever wonder I do this job, it's most definitely for wet, cold morning likes this - really proud of all the girls, treat them to anything they want ? and I hope you all have a lovely weekend.

Onwards and upwards - job well done
