"We had to make some changes as we only had three known defenders, so Siena was asked to step up and join Tess as Centre Back and Annie reverted to left back with Nell on the right.
The game seemed to swing one way and then the other, early on they had the better of play, until we scored, probably slightly against the run of play at that point. Well worked goal and Sadie found the net.
I thought that we then became the dominant team, although both teams continued to have their chances especially as game opened up (in truth both teams began to bypass the midfield as legs tired), but really pleased that again we played some lovely passing football.
Camden equalised before Lily made it 2-1 to Actonians.
At half time we felt fairly comfortable and in control, although we knew there was still a big job to do.
Again, the match seemed to move in spells where both us and then Camden were on top. As we became stretched at the back, they punished us and suddenly we found ourselves level and then trailing 3-2.
Heads did not drop and the girls and Thaila's lovely lob pulled us back to 3-3 ..... from there I thought we could still and possible would still win and Lily was very unlucky not to have repeated last year's last-minute winner.

Bit more open in the middle than I would have liked, but overall I still thought we played well and were the better team, playing the better football .... but that is the beauty of this lovely game.
I have to confess I do miss Paolo for my match facts post-match (so if anyone wants to take up this mantle, please let me know, it is simply noting goals, assists and subs as they happen, upon an APP). So sorry the match reports are not up to the same standard.
Once again back line were stretched but did a great job, right and left midfield and forwards all did a great job and as on another day the score line could have been significantly different (thought both goalkeepers had very good games), if I was being critical then the middle of the pitch was at time far to open, but this is my fault as I had asked our CMs to play as CDM (covering back four) and CAM (pressing high) so inevitably that gave the opposition a bit more space than they deserved at times.
Lots of names in the mix for player of the match, but for me and our joint Captains (Holly & Millie) we all agreed that "Siena" just edged "Lily" for player of the match. Well done Siena, for stepping into a new role today and doing what needed to be done.
Well done to all the girls and thank you as ever to all parents for your support, running the line and coffee ?
Have a lovely weekend and see you all next week
Onwards and upwards" ... Ken
